Toulon Hyères Airport
VINCI Airports has been appointed concession company for Toulon Hyères Airport by the French state (the Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Defense – French Navy).
Located between Marseille and Nice in the Var administrative department in southern France, Toulon Hyères International Airport handled around 550,000 passengers in 2014. It serves Greater Toulon (400,000 inhabitants), the Gulf of St Tropez (located 45 minutes from the airport) and the main seaside resorts of France’s leading tourist area, which welcomes 9 million visitors a year.
The 25-year concession entered into effect on April 1, 2015. It covers the management and development of the airport’s civil activities (terminal building, public area, aircraft parking areas, passenger services such as unlimited free Wi-Fi) and responsibility for work on shared runway infrastructure and its maintenance. The runways, however, remain under the command of the French naval aviation base.
VINCI Airports is taking on all personnel currently employed by the airport.
